BIG THANK YOU to everyone show showed up to help prep for the 2026 season! We truly felt the pride, care, and community that makes Koshkonong Mounds so special. Special thanks to Mary & Ken Applegate and Missy & Mick Madison for generously supporting our volunteers with beverages, and Ann & Linn Duesterbeck for sponsoring the post-work appetizer buffet. 

Here is a list of what our teamwork accomplished:

Clubhouse / Parking Lot / Short Range / Hole #1 Tee Group:

• Cleaned and set patio furniture
• Removed an enormous amount of sticks from the parking lot and landscape
• Removed all leaved from flower beds
• Cut down perennial flowers & plants to allows for healthy growth
• Removed leaves and cleaned the welcome sign area
• Trimmed bushes & trees of overgrowth
• Removed Leaves and cleaned near #1 Tee Box sign
• Cleaned around the bases of large trees, including the large Oak near the putting green / #1 Tee
• Brushed crushed stone/gravel back to original place
• Reset Rocks and Stones
• Removed all other garbage and/or debris from parking lot

Cart Barn / Member Cart Barn / Back Entrance Group:

• Filled in all pot holes with gravel base around KMCC Cart Barn and South Entrance
• Swept out Cart Shed to prepare for KMCC’s TUESDAY Delivery of an all new cart fleet
• Filled an ENTIRE DUMPSTER of trash from the additional cart barn near #18 Green (This was 10+ years in the making)
• Filled and hauled Truckloads of Gravel to assist with Special Project on Hole #14 Tee

 “It’s Broken – Please Fix It” Group:

• Removed broken and jagged siding from cart barn and maintenance shed
• Replaced Door Handles on clubhouse interior doors near steps
• Removed loose light strip on staircase going from bar to bathroom
• Moved Loft & Lie Machine to a better, more functional spot – which will greatly assist with club repair and customization
• Patched hole in staff staircase wall from a burst pipe near the kitchen over the winter
• Replaced Door Handles to On-Course Bathrooms - - NO MORE CODES!
• Tightened all loose hole and sponsor signs throughout the golf course

 #14 Special Project – New, One-Way, Cart Path near #14 Back Tee boxes:

• Cleared entire path with a skidsteer
• Pulled Grass away from trees
• Filled entire path with gravel
• Cleared dead grass area to make room for mulch – which will pair with plants / flowers very soon!
• Enhanced an area on the golf course that has been a “dead zone” forever

Golf Course Group:

• Picked up large sticks throughout ENTIRE Course
• Cut overhanging pine branches on #3 Forward Tee area
• Removed tall weeds down road-side of Hole #3
• Cleaned up Holes #4 & #18 from Tree Work already performed
• Cut low hanging branches on Hole #8 spruce trees
• Cut low hanging branches on Hole #11 -Pine Trees behind the green
• Removed leaves from Rock Wall of Hole #8
• Removed leaves from Rock Wall of Hole #9
• Cut overhanging Branches of Hole #9 Cart Path
• Removed all leaves and prepped Hosta garden near hole #10 Tee
• Reset Rock Wall on Hole #10 Tee
• Removed massive fallen limb by Hole #11 Forward Tee
• Cut down bushes left on #6 Tee to ensure better growth and make them non-invasive
• Cut back overhanging/protruding branches left of #17 Tee
• Cleaned Rock Wall of #17 Tee
• Cut low hanging branches of Spruce Tree on #12
• Removed encroaching branches right of #7 Tee
• Cut down low hanging branches near #14 Tee and throughout trees separating holes #14 & #15
• Removed loose rocks of #7 cart path nearer the green

Looking at this mega list of accomplishments – just shows how powerful our membership truly is.
